GPDD Global Partnership for Disability and Development promoting an inclusive society

Member Constituencies

Member Organizations are expected to come from the following constituency groups of stakeholders (the Constituency Groups):

1. Government ministries or departments in developing countries working to promote equity and inclusive human resource policies and practices through the inclusion of disability issues and the participation of people with disabilities in the formulation of policies and the implementation of programs and services within the government ; 

2. Government ministries or departments in high-income countries, bilateral and multilateral development co-operation and donor agencies, international and regional development banks and foundations working to make equity and inclusive human resource policies and practices, the inclusion of disability issues, and the participation of people with disabilities a standard policy as well as practice in their development programs, and in programs for which they provide lending or other resources

3. UN specialized organizations, agencies, programs and funds, the UN Secretariat and the UN Regional Commissions, working to make equity and inclusive human resource policies and practices, the inclusion of disability issues, and the participation of people with disabilities standard practice in their own programs, and in the policy advice and technical support they provide to member governments and development partners; 

4. Major international development NGOs, consortia and regional/sub-regional networks working in multiple developing countries working to make equity and inclusive human resource policies and practices, the inclusion of disability issues, and the participation of people with disabilities standard practice in their own development programs and activities, and in their activities with governments;

5. International DPOs and regional/sub-regional networks of DPOs engaged in disability and development in multiple developing countries guiding and assisting other partners as well as governments in the formulation of policies and the implementation of programs to ensure the inclusion of disability issues and the participation of people with disabilities and their families;

6. Major international disability NGOs, consortia and regional/sub-regional networks working in multiple developing countries  assisting other partners as well as governments in the formulation of policies and the implementation of programs to ensure the inclusion of disability issues and the participation of people with disabilities; 

7.  Universities and Research Institutes, providing study opportunities or undertaking research on disability and development issues;

8.  Enterprises, including trade unions, worker organizations, and media organizations, working to ensure that their policies and practices, and those of their affiliates and suppliers in developing countries, provide for non-discrimination and equality of training and employment opportunity for people with disabilities.
