Membership

Member Organizations are the backbone of the Global Partnership on Disability and Development (GPDD). GPDD seeks members from the following constituency groups:

  1. Government ministries or departments in developing countries
  2. Government ministries or departments in high-income countries, bilateral and multilateral development co-operation and donor agencies, international and regional development banks and foundations
  3. United Nations (UN) specialized organizations, agencies, programs and funds, the UN Secretariat and the UN Regional Commissions
  4. Major international development non-governmental organizations (NGOs), consortia and regional/sub-regional networks working in multiple developing countries
  5. International disabled people’s organizations (DPOs) and regional/sub-regional networks of DPOs engaged in disability and development in multiple developing countries
  6. Major international disability non-governmental organizations (NGOs), consortia and regional/sub-regional networks working in multiple developing countries
  7. Universities and Research Institutes
  8. Enterprises, including trade unions, worker organizations, and media organizations.

Membership applications submitted by international organizations of people with disabilities, members of the International Disability Alliance (IDA), and governments and donor organizations are accepted automatically. Requests from all other groups and organizations must be reviewed by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will reject or approve the application based on GPDD membership criteria, and notify the applicant of its decision.
